Halloween Games Online: Cozy, Puzzle, Spooky and Action
Updated
Halloween falls on October 31, and the easiest way to pick a Halloween game is by mood: cozy, puzzle, spooky or action. Below are 16 games in those four groups, plus one for two players, each with what you do and, for most, how it controls.
Pick a Halloween game by mood
| Mood | What it feels like | Start with |
|---|---|---|
| Cozy | Serving, building, collecting, coloring | Boo Brew |
| Puzzle | Thinking matters more than reflexes | Red Flow |
| Spooky | Dark rooms, tension, hard choices | Night Shift at Block 13 |
| Action | Waves of monsters, bosses, fast hands | Witchy |
Cozy Halloween games
These are games about serving, building, collecting and coloring, with cute monsters as customers and toys.
- Boo Brew puts you behind the counter of a Halloween potion café. Tap or drag ingredients into the cauldron, stir, and serve monster customers before their patience runs out, across 12 midnight shifts.
- Haunted House Idle lets you build your own haunted attraction in 3D. Guide visitors through it, earn cash, hire helpers and add attractions such as a rotating bridge and slime monsters. You move with WASD or the arrow keys.
- Spooky Vending Machine 2 is as simple as it sounds: pick a treat, type its code on the keypad, pay with coins and collect it from the hatch.
- Easy Halloween Coloring Quest gives you pumpkins, friendly ghosts, witches and haunted houses to fill with your own colors, all with the mouse.
Halloween puzzle games
If you would rather think than react, these four reward planning. The catalog has many more in puzzle games.
- Red Flow is a pipe puzzle set in a Transylvanian cocktail bar. Place pieces from a queue to build a path from the barrel to the glass before the red flow starts. Tap a placed piece to rotate it, but pieces with golden rivets cannot turn.
- Halloween Link asks you to remove pairs of matching tiles. Two tiles can only go if a line with no more than two turns connects them. There are 21 levels.
- Ghoul Fusion rains Halloween objects from the sky, and you drag each one into place as it falls. Merge two of the same kind and they grow into a bigger, higher-scoring one.
- Escape From Soul Hunter - Halloween Escape Game is a point-and-click escape game. Search the scene, solve puzzles and open doors to rescue a kidnapped girl before the sun goes down.
Spooky games for a dark room
These are about atmosphere and tension rather than points. Read each game's description before you start if you dislike sudden frights.
- The Last 15 Minutes traps you in a dark basement with flickering lights and a quarter of an hour to get out. Solve puzzles, find keys and use your flashlight. Controls are WASD to move, E to interact, C to crouch and H for a hint.
- Night Shift at Block 13 makes you the night guard of a crumbling apartment block. Visitors at the window claim to be residents, and some are shapeshifters. Press E to inspect items such as a passport, a journal or a phone, then press the green button to let a visitor in or the red one to turn them away. One wrong call ends the night, and there are seven nights to survive.
- Diner in the Storm shelters you in a diner during a sudden storm. Something dangerous is outside, and the hard part is convincing everyone else to leave with you.
- Deep in the lab Chapter 1 is 2D survival horror in a 90s style: a five-floor lab, keys, puzzles, scarce resources, limited saves and jump scares. You can avoid the monster or fight it.
More rooms to break out of are in escape games.
Halloween action games
Fast games with monster waves, bosses and high scores.
- Witchy flies a witch and her black cat through four worlds of monster waves and bosses. Recover 10 stolen amulets. Move with the arrow keys (WASD in the options), hold Z or Space to fire, and press X for a magic bomb.
- Grave Blast is a 3D twin-stick survival shooter. Move with WASD, aim with the mouse and click to shoot while waves of voxel zombies close in among the graves. There are more like it in zombie games.
- Halloween Fighters is a fighting game with hand-drawn animation, 11 monsters, 12 haunted arenas and three giant bosses. Punch with Z or J, kick with X or K, and add a direction for strong, low or high attacks.
- Pumpkin Ninja asks you to slice flying pumpkins with mouse or finger swipes while avoiding the bombs. It has Classic, Arcade and Zen modes.
Halloween games for two players
Ghost Wiper is built for two people on one keyboard. Two brothers clean a haunted house room by room: the younger one moves with WASD and fires a laser with F, the older one moves with the arrow keys and throws boxes with K and traps with L. There are twenty rooms to clean, with traps and puzzles along the way.
Ghost Wiper is also among the co-op picks in games like Fireboy and Watergirl, and more games two people can share are in 2 player games.
Halloween games FAQ
Are these Halloween games free?
Yes. There is nothing to pay and nothing to install: each one runs free in the browser, with no registration. The site asks for neither money nor personal data.
Can I play them on a phone or tablet?
The site runs in phone, tablet and computer browsers, but each game has its own controls. Boo Brew, Pumpkin Ninja, Witchy and Grave Blast list touch controls, while The Last 15 Minutes and Night Shift at Block 13 list keyboard controls and no touch controls.
Can I keep a list of the ones I like?
