Short Games Online: Quick Rounds and Short Levels to Play
Updated
A short game is one where a round, a match or a level takes a few minutes or less. In a browser that usually means a clock of 30 to 90 seconds, a level you clear in a minute, or a game built for quick sessions. Each game below gives its round or level length, or calls it short, in its own description.
Five kinds of short
| Kind | How long it lasts | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Timed round | A clock of 30 to 90 seconds | Football Champs |
| Short level | Seconds or a minute per level | Arrow Survival: 15 Seconds |
| A few minutes | Two to ten minutes on the clock | Fury Dash |
| Quick match | A 60 or 90 second match against a rival | Splatcha |
| Quick session | The game calls itself a short break | Fuja das Cobras |

Timed rounds: 30 to 90 seconds
Here the clock sets the length, and the aim is the highest score before it runs out. Football Champs is a one-button football game with dogs: kick when the ball is on the crosshair, with 30 seconds on the clock. A precise kick earns bonus time, and a miss costs time. Clicker Time Game also gives you 30 seconds, to click as many times as you can, and it shows your clicks per second.
In Fishing Challenge you have 30 seconds to catch the fish: tap and hold to fish. Soccer Clicker Game turns the clicking into goals, on a 45-second clock that adds a time bonus every few seconds. Aim Locker gives you 60 seconds to click balls, with the small ones worth the most points. One Odd Out shows a group of objects and asks you to click the one that differs, again in 60 seconds. In Spirit Drops From Dew you have 60 seconds to catch falling drops of light and avoid the dark orbs, by swiping or with the arrow keys.

Levels that take seconds or a minute
These games are cut into short levels, so you can stop after any one. Arrow Survival: 15 Seconds asks you to survive 15 seconds per level by dodging hazards and shooting arrows, across 40 levels. You move with A and D or the arrow keys, jump with W or Space, shoot with J or X and restart a level with R. Vector Strike is a shooter with 10 neon sectors and 10 bosses, and its description promises short stages.
Word Mosaic is a word puzzle where you drag word fragments onto a crossword-style board, in what the description calls quick bite-sized levels. In Emoji Line Puzzle you draw a line between two matching emoji cards and clear all the pairs before the timer runs out; it is designed for quick play sessions. Coinbound Voodoo Nightmare is a runner through maze paths where you dodge zombies, with quick rounds and more than a dozen levels. Arrow JamEscape gives you 1 minute to click every arrow off the board without a collision, with 3 hearts per level, and a wrong move costs one heart.

A few minutes on the clock
Some games take a little longer but still count in minutes. Fury Dash is a diamond-popping match game with a Time Trial mode of two minutes and a Survival mode. Battle of the Minds offers chess puzzles in 3-minute or 6-minute challenges: solve as many as you can before time runs out, and the faster you solve, the higher you score.
In 5 minutes in space the goal is to last five minutes without dying: the ship follows the mouse, and you avoid the missiles. Abyssborn is a survivor roguelike with quick 5 to 10 minute rounds. Your hero fires arrows by itself while you move with WASD, and every level-up lets you pick a new skill.
Quick matches
A match against a rival is short when the clock decides it. Splatcha is a paint duel in which the player with the most floor covered after 90 seconds wins. It has a local two-player mode and a one-player mode against a bot with three difficulties. Wheelie Bike For 2 Players is a 60-second duel between two stickmen: hold a wheelie for as long as you can, with W for player one and the up arrow for player two, or a touch each.
In Super Simple Soccer you score more goals than the other team before a 90-second timer runs out, and you need to win five matches in a row to lift the cup. Duckling Rush.io is a pond game with 90-second rounds, won by the longest line of ducklings.
Quick sessions
These describe themselves as made for quick sessions or a short break. Fuja das Cobras is a reflex game where you tap or click to move a hero left or right and dodge snakes for as long as you can. Dangerous Turn sends a hero along a winding path: tap to change direction, collect coins and avoid fire, ice and spikes. Its description says the quick sessions suit a short break or a longer run for a high score.
PocketGolf is a paper-style golf game in which you flick a tiny paper ball toward the hole in as few strokes as you can, in what it calls bite-sized sessions. Duo Match 3D asks you to spot a matching pair and drag it into the hoop before the clock hits zero.
Tips for short games
- Look for the number in the description. A clock of 30, 45, 60 or 90 seconds tells you the pace before the first tap.
- Use the first round to find the keys. In Arrow Survival: 15 Seconds a level lasts 15 seconds and R restarts it, so a wrong key costs little.
- Watch the time bonus. Football Champs adds time for precise kicks and takes time away for a miss, so a careful kick is worth more than a fast one.
- Keep a two-player game for company. Splatcha and Wheelie Bike For 2 Players are built for two people on one device.
