Hard does not have to mean unfair. Several of these list a restart key, and Lumen Descent has checkpoints, so a failed try costs seconds.
Precision platformers
These ask for exact jumps through levels full of spikes, saws and lasers. Lumen Descent takes you through 12 dangerous floors of a forgotten tower, with difficult jumps, a dash and checkpoints. A and D move, Space jumps, Shift dashes and R retries, and phones get on-screen touch controls.
Mononinja asks for precise jumps over more than 30 levels of deadly obstacles: hold Space, or tap and hold on a phone, and the longer you hold, the higher the ninja jumps. Frosty Ball is a physics platformer starring a rolling snowball, with anti-gravity pads, portals, swinging frost maces and deadly laser beams, and the goal is 3 stars on every stage.
In Blocky Leap you click and release to launch a square-headed hero across wide gaps between pylons, and the description asks for perfect timing and precision. Square Sling hands you a grappling hook: WASD or the arrows move and jump, a held mouse click grapples toward the cursor, and you can still move in mid-air.

Timing and skill tests
Here the whole game is one click at the right moment, over and over. MiniMissions calls itself a collection of 80 difficult skill games. Each time you complete one, a new one appears. Every game is about perfect timing, one mistake ends it, and some missions run on a clock.
Saw Pop Master has you launch targets through spinning saws and moving traps, with faster blades and tighter gaps at each level. Hurdle Hero is hurdling with perfect timing, where one mistake ends the run at once. In Piercing Skies arrows rain from above as you leap between three narrow ledges, and one mistake ends the game. Killer Touch is a tap-to-shoot game against swarming enemy planes, where one hit ends it.
One mistake and the run is over
These are dodgers: you steer through danger until the first touch ends the run, and the score is how long you lasted. Trap Cursor sends your cursor through a maze of deadly traps and shifting obstacles. Its description says one mistake is all it takes, and Space controls your movement. In Spikes Everywhere Game danger comes from every direction, and one wrong move can end the run. Spike Sphere swings a spiked ball on a sticky rope while a massive fire chases you from behind: aim, attach to walls and time your swings.
Hazard Heights moves a player upward through objects that zip across the screen, with narrow passages early on and open space later, and your getaway car waits at the summit. Short Ride is a bicycle game with sawblades, spikes and swinging traps. Up pedals, Down brakes, Left and Right lean to keep your balance, and Space restarts after a crash.
How to get through a hard game
- Find the restart key first. Lumen Descent retries with R, and Short Ride restarts with the spacebar after a crash.
- Aim for the next checkpoint, not the exit. Lumen Descent has 12 floors with checkpoints.
- Tap lightly in hold-to-jump games. In Mononinja the longer you hold the jump, the higher you go, so a short hold gives a low hop.
