They share one rule: a truck is heavy and slow to react, so a smooth throttle and early braking get you further than speed. Cargo games: keep the load on board

  • Taiga: Expedition sends vintage trucks through mud, deep fords and forest forks to deliver logs and cargo to the sawmill. The load in the bed is loose: logs, fuel barrels, pipes, hay bales and fragile containers sway and fly off on bumps, so the game asks you to feather the throttle, brake and steering. There are 5 trucks and 50 routes, from dirt roads to the Great Swamp, with risky shortcuts and safe detours, and up to 3 stars per level for cargo kept and time. Upgrades cover the engine, mud tires, suspension, high sides and fuel tank.
  • The Cargo and The Cargo 2 start at a crane: load the truck, then deliver without losing anything. The same keys drive the crane and the truck, and Space attaches and detaches the cargo. In The Cargo, quick jobs earn money for truck upgrades.
  • Pickup Cargo takes a pickup over dirt and hills to customers' houses. Drive carefully and try not to lose too much of the load; Space is the handbrake.
  • Truck Racing is the arcade version: get the cargo to the destination without dropping it, steering with A and D and jumping with W.
  • Long Trailer Truck Cargo Truck Simulator Game hauls cargo up a mountain road with oil drums and rocks in the way, to a destination marked on the mini-map, on time.
  • Heavy Tractor Towing tows a bus or cargo containers along snowy mountain roads. Keep it balanced and drive steadily.

Cargo habits:

  1. Ease onto the gas and the brake. Sudden moves are what throw the load off in Taiga: Expedition.
  2. Weigh the shortcut. Taiga scores both cargo kept and time, so a safe detour with a full load can beat a fast route that spills it.
  3. Slow down before bumps, not on top of them.

Truck and trailer parking

  • Truck Space 2 gives you a large truck with a trailer to park in a marked spot. Road signs show where and in which direction the trailer goes, and the mouse zooms and rotates the camera.
  • 3D Truck Parking drives a trailer truck through a large city to a marked area, and tells you to use the camera to see the truck from different angles.
  • Real Truck Parking sends a truck without a body down lanes fenced with concrete blocks and containers to a rectangle on the asphalt, against a countdown timer.
  • Trailer Truck Parking fills the parking lots with other vehicles. Reach your spot without hitting anything, driving carefully and methodically.
  • Truck Parking Game shifts into reverse with T, then drives backward on the up arrow.

Parking habits:

  1. Go slowly. Trailer Truck Parking asks for careful, methodical driving.
  2. Move the camera. Truck Space 2 and 3D Truck Parking both let you look from other angles before you commit.
  3. Read the signs first. In Truck Space 2 they tell you which way the trailer should face.
  4. Find reverse before you need it: T in Truck Parking Game, S or the down arrow in Taiga: Expedition.

Offroad: mud, rivers and hills

  • Offroad Muddy Trucks has a career for 1 or 2 players and a huge free map to explore with a friend. Player 1 drives with WASD, uses NOS on Left Shift, restarts with R and switches to a nearby truck with F. Player 2 uses the arrow keys, Right Shift, M and N.
  • Mud Truck Driving hauls heavy cargo across muddy roads, rocky trails, forests and mountains while you keep the truck balanced. Missions earn you new trucks.
  • Truck Cross Country asks you to pass every checkpoint in each level. Drive off the road into the river and you get one free respawn from where you went in.

Monster trucks: stay on your wheels

  • Monster-Tracks-Online is a balance game. Too much power at the wrong moment arches the truck backward and flips it, so keep a slight backward tilt, since most obstacles push you forward, and match your speed to the level. Bridges, pebbles, logs, windmills and ramps stand in the way, and falling into water ends the game. The shop upgrades power, grip and weight.
  • Monster Truck Crush races a computer driver across platforms. Speed up only once the truck is balanced on the next platform, or you lose speed or roll over.
  • Monster Truck Wheels 2 has fifteen tracks of pyramids, bridges, containers and parked cars to climb, in a truck that is not very stable.
  • Monster Race 3D runs 10 tracks, alone or against a friend: player 1 on WASD, player 2 on the arrow keys.
  • Big Wheels Monster Truck is about smashing cars on the way to the end of the track.
  • Hard Truck is one input: tap to accelerate, release to brake and reverse.

Monster truck habits:

  1. Go easy on the gas. In Monster-Tracks-Online too much power flips the truck backward.
  2. Land and settle before you accelerate, as Monster Truck Crush asks.
  3. Spend on grip and weight as well as power when the shop allows it.

Work trucks

  • Snow Plow Inc. clears snow with an orange plow truck: fill the bed with snow blocks, then sell the load at the yard for coins. Its 15 levels move from soft powder to packed snow and solid ice, and coins upgrade the plow count, teeth and power, the engine, earnings and capacity. Progress saves automatically.
  • Home Hauler Simulator builds houses with trucks and cranes. Haul floors, walls and roofs, switch between driving and the crane with C, rotate the crane with A and D, raise and lower the arm with W and S, and extend the hook with the up and down arrows.

Can two people play truck games together?

Yes. Offroad Muddy Trucks has a two-player career and free map, and Monster Race 3D puts one player on WASD and the other on the arrow keys.

How do you reverse in truck games?

Check the controls first. In Taiga: Expedition the brake key also reverses, Truck Parking Game shifts into reverse with T, and Hard Truck reverses when you let go.

Can I play truck games on a phone?

Many of them. Taiga: Expedition shows a floating joystick wherever you touch, Truck Space 2 has on-screen buttons and a slide to turn the camera, Snow Plow Inc. steers with touch and drag, and Real Truck Parking has touch buttons.
