Games Like Street Fighter: One-on-One Browser Fighters

Games like Street Fighter are one-on-one fighting games: two fighters, a health bar each, punches and kicks, special moves and a match decided over rounds. Street Fighter is a series by Capcom that began in 1987, and its 1991 sequel Street Fighter II set many of the conventions of the genre (source). The games below are original browser fighters by independent studios, with rounds, specials and two-player modes.
How Street Fighter plays
In Street Fighter II two fighters meet in timed one-on-one matches. A round ends when one fighter drains the other's health bar, or when time runs out and the fighter with more health wins it. Two round wins take the match.
You move, jump, crouch and block with the joystick, and attack with six buttons: three punches and three kicks, each in light, medium and heavy strength. Special moves come from combinations of directions and buttons (source).
So a match is rounds, a punch and kick set and a few special moves. This table shows where the games below ask for the same.

Rounds, punches and kicks
These have the most in common with a Street Fighter match: separate punch and kick keys, and in places rounds and a special move.
- Paper Fighter 3D plays for one or two players in short matches of 3 rounds, and the first to take 2 rounds wins. Use your punches and kicks at the right time, and the special strike is ready when your power bar is full. Player 1 moves with WASD, F punches, G kicks and R is the special. Player 2 moves with the arrow keys, L punches, K kicks and O is the special.
- Western Fight puts 8 characters in a western setting. You fight a friend in the 2 player mode or the computer in the 1 player mode, and the aim is to win 2 rounds before your opponent. Player 1 moves with WASD, V punches and B kicks. Player 2 moves with the arrow keys, O punches and P kicks.
- Martial Arts: Fighter Duel brings 17 martial arts masters from different countries to a tournament in Arcade mode, or lets you play a friend in 2 Player mode. You set the difficulty in the settings. Each player has three punch keys and three kick keys, the same split as the six attack buttons of Street Fighter II: F, G and H punch and C, V and B kick for player 1, and U, I and O punch and J, K and L kick for player 2.
- Super Kick Boxing is an arcade fighting game with punches, kicks, dodges and special moves, and it makes you manage your stamina. Z punches, X kicks, V is a super kick, C or the up arrow blocks and S or the down arrow dodges. Its own tip is to block or dodge, then strike within 0.35 seconds. Mobile has an on-screen pad.
Street fighters and brawlers
These move the fight to the street, with a roster of characters or a grab move.
- Hungry Warrior Fight is a street combat game where you use the movement keys and simple button commands for martial arts techniques. Z punches, X kicks, V blocks and Space jumps. On mobile you use the buttons in the game.
- Double StreetFight has a campaign for two people, a free-for-all for up to 8 and a 1vs1 free-for-all. The arrow keys move, Z punches (hold it for 2 seconds for a power punch), X kicks, C guards, V grabs and Space jumps. You collect coins to buy costumes.
- FoodHead Fighters lets you pick one of its characters and fight other characters in the street. Each opponent is stronger than the last, and rewards help you improve your fighting skills. WASD or the arrows move, Space jumps, Z hits, X grabs, C kicks and V defends.
- Street War has you choose a character with unique skills. Each warrior has different strengths and weaknesses, so timing and strategy decide the fight. W, A and D move, J punches and K kicks.
Stickman and retro duels
- Stickman: Fighter 3D has an Arcade Mode of 15 levels against increasingly smart AI opponents and a 2-Player Versus mode on one computer. You chain combos, throw flying kicks and dodge attacks, and floating orbs give power-ups: red doubles damage, blue adds speed, green restores health and yellow makes you invincible. Player 1 moves with WASD, F punches, G kicks and Space jumps. Player 2 moves with the arrow keys, K punches, L kicks and Right Shift jumps.
- Stick Fighter 3D is a retro stickman fight game for one or two players. The blue player moves with WASD, F punches, G kicks and R is a bonus. The orange player moves with the arrow keys, L punches, K kicks and O is a bonus.
- Retro Kick Boxing uses Z to punch, X to kick and C to block, with the left and right keys to move.

Habits that win rounds
- Find the block key first. It is V in Hungry Warrior Fight, C in Retro Kick Boxing and Double StreetFight, and C or the up arrow in Super Kick Boxing.
- Hold the special for an opening. In Paper Fighter 3D the special strike is ready once the power bar is full.
- Block, then answer. Super Kick Boxing tells you to strike within 0.35 seconds of a block or a dodge.
- Check the sides before the first round. Player 1 punches with F in Paper Fighter 3D and with V in Western Fight.
- Take the match round by round. Paper Fighter 3D and Western Fight both give it to the first fighter with 2 round wins, so one lost round is not the end.
