Robot Games Online: Mech Battles, Robot Duels and Puzzles
Updated
Robot games online fall into a few clear types. In some you fight as a robot or pilot a mech, a large walking machine with guns; in others you play a small robot finding its way through puzzles and courses; and in some you build a robot up, part by part, until it can smash a city. Below are the types, the controls that matter, and games from the robot games collection.
Types of robot games
| Type | What you do | Try first |
|---|---|---|
| Robot duels | Punch, kick and shoot another robot in an arena | Ultimate Robo Duel 3D |
| Mech shooters | Pilot an armored mech against waves and bosses | Steel Directive: City Zero |
| Transforming robots | Switch between a robot and a vehicle | Cat Robot Transform War |
| Play as a robot | Solve puzzles, escape factories, run courses | Zappy |
| Build and smash | Upgrade a robot until it flattens everything | Giant Crusher: Destroy & Grow |
The word mech comes from mecha. Wikipedia's article on mecha describes them as giant robots or machines, piloted or sentient, typically humanoid walking vehicles.
Robot duels and fights

- Robot Fighting Adventure sends a robot warrior across a map, opening more levels as it wins.
- Dino Robot Fighting War lets you build and customize dinosaur robots, such as a T-Rex, a Triceratops or a Stegosaurus, and fight with them.
- Mecha Storm Robot Battle asks you to upgrade and modify your mecha to beat wave after wave of enemies.
- Robo Battle sets your bot against lasers, saws and other war robots, where strategy counts as much as skill.
Blocking, combos and other two-player duels are in fighting games online tips.

Mech shooters
Mech shooters give you a heavily armored machine and a lot to shoot at.
- Steel Directive: City Zero is a 2D action shooter over 20 missions. You fight gangs and dangerous robots, rescue civilians, collect evidence and reach extraction. Beyond moving and shooting, Shift dodges, G throws a grenade, F raises a shield, S or C kneels behind cover, and V scans.
- Mech Core: Survivor is a top-down survival game against endless alien swarms. Move with WASD, aim with the mouse, and fire is automatic by default. Nanites from defeated enemies level you up and bring upgrades such as Rapid Lasers, Homing Missiles and EMP Shockwaves.
- Player vs Robots is a first-person shooter with 3 difficulty modes of 10 levels each. Shift runs and F uses a first aid kit.
- Epic Robot Combat Simulator puts you in a combat suit in space. Number keys change weapons and Shift dashes; on a phone, one joystick moves and the other aims and shoots.
- Variety Mecha fights a futuristic robot war with WASD, J to shoot and K to dash aside.
- Clanker.io is a team arena: control a battle clanker, pick new weapons, lay landmines and dash with Space.
- Cowboys vs Robots hides a cowboy behind a bar full of weapons and sends a robot invasion at him.
- Mech Battle Simulator makes you the commander of a mech army, with tanks, robot spiders, warrior mechs and desert buggies.

More aiming habits are in shooting games tips, and more of the genre in shooting games.
Transforming robots
These robots turn into vehicles and back.
- Cat Robot Transform War switches between a car and a cat robot with F. WASD moves, the left mouse button shoots and the right one aims.
- Flying Robot Transform Car Games turns a wolf robot into a car, a bike, a helicopter, a jet or a tank, in a Mission Mode or a Free Mode to explore the city.
- Robot Car Transform 2 gives your robot two forms and missions that need both.
- Super Megabot Adventure is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up with armed robots that transform. Q and E change weapons, and after Mission Mode there is a survival mode.
Play as a robot: puzzles and courses
Here the robot is the hero, and the challenge is the level.
- Zappy has you deliver a mysterious box past traps and enemies. Space or E picks up and drops items.
- Scientist and Robot flips the roles: you are the scientist, searching laboratory rooms for the missing parts of a broken robot.
- Robotu Rebellion traps a robot in a factory full of lasers and security robots; you find hidden paths and hack machines to escape.
- Sector 01 follows a faulty robot that gains consciousness before it can be destroyed. The left mouse button punches and the right one dashes.
- FRAGMENT has about 40 levels to finish as fast as you can. R resets the level if you get stuck.
- Robo Parkour World is a big 3D parkour map: WASD moves, Shift runs, and the one rule is not to fall.
- Fail Run has a small robot that keeps losing its balance; press to walk and help it reach the end.
- Tidy Bot is the calm one. You drive a robot vacuum around rooms, pick up every speck of dirt and get back to the dock before the battery runs out, over 30 levels and an Endless mode.

NEWBuild, upgrade and smash
- Giant Crusher: Destroy & Grow starts with a small robot and a hammer. Smash crates and buildings for coins, upgrade power and speed, beat the bosses of 12 districts and reach 17 evolutions. Rebirth gives you a permanent power boost.
- Mech Builder Master builds a mech level by level: click fast to kick in fights, and shoot buildings for coins to spend on upgrades.
- Mashup Hero assembles a robot while you sprint to the finish, then ends each stage with a shockwave in the arena. Cores upgrade speed, armor and strength.
- Super Robot Chogokin hands you a giant robot and a city to crash through.
- Create Your Robot is pure building: put a robot together from the parts on offer.
In upgrade games, spend first on what ends your runs. In Tidy Bot the run ends when the battery is empty, and it sells battery, speed and side brush upgrades; in Giant Crusher, power and attack speed decide how fast the districts fall. How rebirth and prestige work is explained in idle and clicker games.

Robot games FAQ
What is the difference between a robot and a mech?
In games, a mech is usually a large robot or armored suit that someone pilots, like the mechs in Mech Core: Survivor and Epic Robot Combat Simulator. A robot can also act on its own, like the vacuum in Tidy Bot or the escaping robot in Sector 01.
Can two players fight as robots on one keyboard?
Yes. Ultimate Robo Duel 3D has a 2 Player mode, with WASD for player 1 and the arrow keys for player 2.
Do robot games work on a phone?
Many do. Epic Robot Combat Simulator and Steel Directive: City Zero have on-screen controls, and Tidy Bot is played by dragging. The site works in the browser of a phone, a tablet and a computer.
Do I need an account to play?
No. The games play free, right in the browser, with no install and no registration.
The rest of the duels, mechs and robot puzzles are in the robot games collection.
