Maze Games Online: Draw the Path, Roll a Ball, Escape

Updated

Maze games online come in four kinds: games where you draw the path to the exit, games where you roll a ball or marble through the walls, games where you walk out of a maze, and mazes with a twist such as bombs or a second player. Pick by how you move: with a pen, with a ball or with a character.

Draw the path or paint the maze

Here you do not steer a character. You trace a route, or you roll a ball over every tile.

  • Mazes Draw The Path is a logic puzzle in which you find the exit by drawing the path yourself. Click and hold on the start, draw a path to the exit without touching a wall, and collect stars for more points.
  • Draw Path Puzzle asks you to move a paintball ball and paint the entire maze. Finished levels earn new balls. Click or tap to play.
  • Color Maze Puzzle 2D is a maze game with 80 levels. Swipe to move the ball and color all the blocks. The keyboard arrows work too, and R restarts the layout.

More route puzzles are in puzzle games online.

Roll or slide a ball

The walls stay put and the ball does the moving, so these games feel more like a tabletop toy.

  • Ball and Maze has you slide the ball to move it and collect all the stars before you advance.
  • 3D Maze Control has you rotate the board so the ball reaches its goal. The ball always falls down with gravity, and aliens wait on the way. Use the mouse or tap the screen to rotate.
  • MarbleMaze2 is a marble game: roll, dodge red and reach green past decoy holes, spinning blades, moving walls and toxic blobs. WASD or the arrow keys roll the marble, Shift boosts and R restarts. On a phone you tilt the device or drag.
  • Hedge Maze is a one-player game where you guide the ball to the blue square to finish a level. It has an on-screen joystick, and the arrow keys work too.

Walk out of a maze

In these you control a character, a knight or an animal and look for the way out.

  • Maze Escape 3D sends you through a complex 3D maze in a limited time. Many forks make you tell the right road from the wrong one, and there are several modes. Use the mouse or tap.
  • Maze Escape Hero is a 2D game about a knight lost in a mysterious maze. Find the Holy Sword, the only key out, and collect enough lost crowns to activate it. The mouse controls it.
  • Maze Survivor Platform Adventure Game has maze-like levels in 2D. Find the hidden key and reach home while you avoid dangerous animals, flying birds and lava, across more than 30 levels. The arrow keys move on a computer, and touch buttons move on a phone.
  • Hamster Maze Online asks you to guide a hamster out of the maze to its food, past barriers. Collect more food to get costumes. Use the mouse or tap.
  • Maze Rush has many levels in a 3D maze. Touch the on-screen rocker, a virtual joystick, to steer and walk out.
  • The Lost Labyrinth sends you into a castle of traps for a treasure. Avoid the traps and obstacles. The arrow keys move on a computer, and control buttons appear on a phone.

Escapes from rooms rather than mazes are in escape room games.

Mazes with a twist

  • Maze Tower sends two adventurers through 16 labyrinths to collect precious stones from the towers. It has a single-player adventure, a two-player adventure and a two-player racing mode. Player 1 uses W A S D and player 2 uses the arrow keys, and both can double jump and wall jump.
  • Maze Bomber Game lets you place bombs to break blocks and clear your path, while you avoid the explosions and reach the goal. Click or tap to play.
  • Wiz Maze has you lead a wizard through mystical mazes with hidden traps, magical potions and ancient symbols. On-screen arrow buttons move the wizard left or right, or make it jump.

Two players on one keyboard is explained in 2 player games on one keyboard, and more games for two are in 2 player games.

Tips for maze games

  1. In a maze you walk through, keep one hand on one wall and follow it. It never gets you lost when the entrance and the exit are on the outer wall, but it can take the long way round, so in a timed maze like Maze Escape 3D use it only when you lose track of where you have been.
  2. Look over the whole maze before you draw. In Mazes Draw The Path, try tracing the route from the exit as well as from the start.
  3. In 3D Maze Control, gravity always pulls the ball down, so rotate the board gently. In MarbleMaze2, use the Shift boost on straight stretches and let go before a turn.
  4. In Maze Escape Hero, collect the crowns, because the Holy Sword needs enough of them to work.
  5. In Maze Tower, practice the double jump and the wall jump first. The game says both players need them in the levels.

Maze games FAQ

Are there maze games online free, with no download?

Yes. They play free in the browser, with no install and no registration, on a phone, a tablet or a computer.

What is the difference between a maze and a labyrinth?

The two words mostly mean the same thing, and game titles use both. In the strict sense, a maze has branching paths and wrong turns, while a labyrinth can mean a single winding path with no choices. The Lost Labyrinth, for one, is a castle full of traps.

Are there 3D maze games?

Yes. Maze Escape 3D walks you through a 3D maze, and 3D Maze Control rotates a 3D board to roll the ball to its goal. Hamster Maze Online has a 3D style too.

Are there maze games for two players?

Maze Tower has a two-player adventure and a two-player racing mode. Player 1 plays with W A S D and player 2 with the arrow keys.
