Gun games online come in five kinds of gun play: games where you build or merge the gun itself, pistol games about aim and timing, first-person shooters with an arsenal of rifles and shotguns, shooting ranges with a limited number of bullets, and duels for two. Build and merge your gun

In these games the gun is the thing you play with. You make it stronger as you go, and the fight comes after the upgrades.

  • Gun Build N Run is a parkour arcade shooter where your gun keeps running. Choose a door to pass through to raise your damage, shooting speed or range.
  • Gun Upgrade Rush is a swipe runner. Slide left and right to collect pickups that boost your fire rate, add shotgun blasts and evolve the gun into stronger weapon types.
  • Gun Evolution mixes a shooting runner with a merge battle. Shoot the numbered pillars for money, spend it on attack and speed, and merge a power gun to win the battle after the finish line.
  • Weapon Merge Run has you merge gun pieces into firearms, and you hold the left mouse button to play.
  • Merge Weapon Run collects numbered weapons such as 2, 4, 6 and 8 and merges matching ones 2048-style. At the finish line the run turns into a tower defense battle.
  • National become gun god is about hitting balls with a gun before the bullets run out. Drag two of the same gun together to craft a higher-level one, and click dropped chests to get guns.
  • Zombies 4 Weapon Merge matches and merges weapons into powerful guns, then you aim at endless waves of zombies.

Pistols: aim, angle and timing

  • Stickman3D Shooter gives a stickman a pistol in a puzzle-based shooter. Find the right angle, line up your shots and eliminate enemies in creative ways, with the mouse or touch.
  • Pedro: Double Cross is a 2D action shooter starring a dual-pistol agent. It has forty connected scenes with reflective rails, laser relays, breakable glass and cables. Every shot needs a fresh press, so timing and accuracy beat blind spray. A and D move, left click aims and fires one shot, right click locks one pistol, Shift slows the action, K dodges and R reloads.
  • Cowboys vs Robots puts a heavily armed cowboy behind a bar full of weapons, facing a robot invasion. Levels get harder, and you chase all the stars.
  • Guns & Bottles asks you to tap and hit rotating bottles while the gun rotates too. Three bottles in a row earn 5 coins, and a red bottle ends the game.
  • Watermelon Shooting hands you various handguns to shoot watermelons over more than 20 levels. The left button shoots and the right button zooms.
  • Shoot or Die 2 is a Mexican-standoff duel in a spaghetti western. Get your revolver ready and be the fastest in the west, because the slowest shooter is forgotten.

Rifles and arsenals

  • Gun Strike is a 3D first-person shooter with light and heavy weapons and grenades, set in a village and among city-like buildings. W A S D moves, the right button aims, Shift speeds you up, C crouches and T dilates time.
  • Gun Master 3D gives you a big arsenal against hordes of enemies, and survival earns new guns. The mouse wheel changes weapons and R reloads.
  • Manoeuvre FPS is built from bite-sized levels that test aim, timing and weapon handling. You go from pistols to powerful rifles as the arsenal grows.
  • Outbreak Ops is a zombie shooter seen from above, with pistols, shotguns, SMGs, sniper rifles, flamethrowers and miniguns. Shift dashes and Space throws a grenade, and a phone gets a virtual joystick and combat buttons.
  • Zombie Grave Yard arms you with a pistol, a shotgun and power-ups in a haunted cemetery. Campaign has levels, and Survival tracks the highest wave you reach.

Shooting ranges

  • Gun Shooting Range starts you as a rookie sniper with a rifle. Pass the missions to grow into a professional, and use the fewest bullets for the most damage.
  • Target Hit Shooting Range is a 3D range where you hit as many targets as you can with a limited number of bullets. Its levels add puzzle designs, and sniper rifles and shotguns come as in-game rewards.

Duels for two

  • Gunwars makes one of you the red player and the other the blue player. Red moves with W A S D and blue with the arrows, and balloons that drop from above change your weapon. Whoever is hit 20 times loses.
  • Gun of Janissary has two janissary characters challenging each other with guns after swords, axes and arrows. Trees or wind can carry a bullet off, so calculate where it will go. W or the up arrow works the game, and so does touch.

Habits for gun games

  1. Upgrade before the fight. Gun Build N Run's doors raise damage, shooting speed and range, and Gun Upgrade Rush's pickups raise fire rate.
  2. Merge the same gun. Two matching guns make a stronger one in National become gun god, and matching numbers do it in Merge Weapon Run.
  3. Count your bullets. Target Hit Shooting Range and National become gun god give you a limited number, and Gun Shooting Range asks you to use the fewest.
  4. Press once per shot. Pedro: Double Cross rewards timing and accuracy over blind spray, and Shoot or Die 2 is won by speed.
  5. Allow for the wind. In Gun of Janissary, trees and wind can move a bullet.
